It is an important religious place for the Hindus. The temple is located on the bans of the sacred Bhagirathi River and it was built by Gorkha General, Amar Singh Thapa. The Gangotri temple remains opened from May to November as the region is prone to heavy snowfall. Mukhba Village: It is a small village and the home of the idol of Goddess Ganga during winters.
